RTI proud to announce that it is a member or the WWMD Consortium  The Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ), on behalf of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA(ALT)) and the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD) announced its intent to enter into a Section 815 Other Transaction (OT) Agreement with the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) for a period of ten (10) years.

RTI , Chantilly, Virginia will share in an $8,276,161,000 hybrid (cost, cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost-plus-incentive-fee, firm-fixed-price, fixed-price-incentive, and fixed-price-redetermination) contract for Joint Enterprise Research, Development, Acquisition and Production and Procurement (JE-RDAP) program to support research and development of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high-yield explosives defense systems, capabilities, equipment, supplies and material. Bids were solicited via the Internet with 178 received. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Oct. 3, 2027. This presentation aims to describe the genesis, integration challenges and technology evolution for the pilot development BSP-U. This pilot was the first full scale decision support system that tries to address the requirements of the Bio-Surveillance mission - a “whole of government” biosurveillance capability that will facilitate collaboration, communication, and information sharing, and provide a centralization decision support to detect, manage and mitigate man-made and naturally occurring BIO events.

Mr. Michael Ricciardi, RTI Managing Partner and Chief Software Scientist, spoke at the 5th Annual Conference: Combating Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive Threats Bridging the Industry-Government Communication Barrier. His presentation “Enhancing Analytics through Standards, Policy and Interoperable Product Line,” was well received and provided some meaningful insight in the DOD Joint Information Environment (JIE) and how Analytics can be expanded by it’s implementation. He provided some insight into the action currently being taken within the Chemical and Biological Defense Program to achieve the vision of JIE and enhance our ability to combat WMD.

The new name is to reflect the best of us from the past and the promising technology we expect to provide in 2015 and beyond.
